Well it's Chanler again! I have been busy with my lovely life ( I'll sleep when I'm dead, right now I love my crazy life ) and I decided to share what has been happening! Let me start off with I turned another year older (whoop) I'm 17 and it'll be great around Halloween to see the o' so scary movies ( but I'm a big scaredy cat so I may need someone to hold my hand lol ) ! I know I've talkedabout showing cattle ( yes I'm a little obsessed #countrygirlprob) and inDecember I attended the Holiday Classic. By far one of the best prospect shows because they have clinics to extend your knowledge for all different kinds of livestock. I also partook in the pig clinic because I am becoming diverse in different species. But being a HUGE cattle girl I showed my heifer in the show and I placed 2nd. One thing that showing has really helped me with and a life lesson that really I/ everyone can use is that you're not always going to win, and sometimes it is good to lose so you really do appreciate when you win!( winning big or small) this is a quote that I feel is very true : "Remember you will not always win. Some days the most resourceful individual will taste defeat. But there is,in this case, always tomorrow--after you have done your best to achieve success today !"
I love my family & bonding time, so when my parents told me and my brother that we were going snow skiing over Christmas I was beyond EXCITED! We went to Red
River, NM. The 16 hour drive provided some bonding time with my parents and even more so with my brother (as good as that can). I am by far a level 1 skier lol but by the time we left ( with a lot of falling on my derrière) I became a level 1 1/2 skier - go me! We had a absolute blast, the weather was perfect, and we were accompanied by good family friends. I even brought back my little girl ways and went sledding... it was quite a show. I look forward to seeing if there will be a ski trip in the future.
2011 brought me such great adventures and opportunities: my junior year, the Washington County Fair, becoming Miss Montana Boots USA ( make sure to check them out at www.montanabootsusa.com) , my ski trip, the list can go on and on because I have so much to be thankful for and I am so blessed for everything in my life! But I would have to say the most important thing next in my Savior and Lord, is my family. They are the support team for me, the backbone and they are what has made me who I am today! I hope 2012 will be just as great if not better than 2011!!
So far with 2012 I have kept my title of miss Montana boots USA, I ran for a officer position for the Texas junior angus association and received the treasure position. I attended the ft.worth stock show, San Antonio Livestock show and rodeo, and Houston livestock show & rodeo with heifers and steers !Living, Loving and showing angus !! I calf scrambled in San Antonio and caught a calf and also scrambled in Houston, I caught but it got away however I was awarded the hard luck award( I'll take it). Also I got the beautiful Houston brand on my steer,it was exciting! For our county show the year in the great state of texas i took a cross pig and he placed 5th, my angus heifer got 1st and then grand champion british heifer, my steer got 1st place AOB medium weight, reserve champion AOB and then RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION AOB STEER !!!!!!!!!!!! Man was i blessed... and to top it all off.... i got 2012 FAIR QUEEN !!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful spring so far, make sure to keep rockin the boots ( montanabootsusa ) and you can follow me on twitter @missmontanabootsusa as well as pinteret @missmontanabootusa . Be looking for all the boot styles that we have which can be found on www.montanabootsusa.com
